Dodge Construction Network (Dodge) is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner (HRBP) to join our dynamic HR team. In this position, you will work closely with HR leadership and business leaders to identify and implement solutions that improve employee performance, retention, and team effectiveness. The HR Business Partner is a hands-on role responsible for coaching managers and leaders through employee relations and performance management issues, while supporting initiatives across the entire talent lifecycle (new hires, talent processes, growth, and mobility). As a problem-solver and strong communicator, you will help leaders drive accountability and achieve results. This role offers a mix of tactical and strategic work in a collaborative environment that values both independent initiative and teamwork. 

 

This is a full-time position and reports directly to the VP, Talent Management.

 

Preferred Location

This is a remote, home-office role and candidates located in the continental United States will be considered. 

 

Travel Requirements

A willingness to travel on occasion for face-to-face meetings is preferred.

 

Essential Functions

  • Facilitate key company-wide talent cycles (performance reviews, talent and compensation planning and internal mobility) that help ensure the organization has the right talent in the right roles at the right time to meet business goals 
  • Facilitate calibration sessions with managers to standardize performance expectations and ensure consistent application of performance standards across teams 
  • Provide hands-on guidance to managers and leaders on best practices for performance management, including feedback delivery, performance improvement plans, fostering accountability, and using data to make informed decisions 
  • Lead and conduct fair and complete investigations ensuring formal, legally compliant documentation and resolution to employee relations matters, considering all risk and liability to the company

  • Use coaching experience and practical techniques to coach managers on resolving conflict, managing change, and building a collaborative and accountable culture that ensures results
  • Consult with leaders on organizational structure, implement changes (design, job changes, communications, etc.) 
  • Foster connectivity to HR SMEs (recruiting, benefits, etc.) as needed 
  • Oversee day-to-day execution of policies and practices that directly support performance management and retention efforts 
  • Actively contribute to the development of policies and programs that are practical and aligned with the company vision 
  • Assist and advise managers and Talent Acquisition teammates on open roles (skill requirements, job design) as needed 
  • Partner with managers to assess team performance, identify barriers to success, and recommend actionable solutions that align with organizational goals 
  • Develop processes to compile and analyze HR data, identify trends, and provide clear steps to drive insight and drive sensible decision making 
  • Conduct regular meetings with assigned business partners 
  • Conduct welcome discussions with new hires and exit interviews with departing employees 
  • Stay updated on industry trends, introduce innovative strategies, and assist with the implementation of best practices to enhance the HR organization 

 

Education Requirement

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and work experience.

 

Required Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • Relevant, progressive HR experience with at least 3 years as a business partner supporting senior executives and 7 years in Human Resources
  • Proven ability to diagnose problems and drive appropriate solutions with self-initiative 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including effective negotiation/mediation skills 
  • Demonstrated expertise in ensuring compliance with state labor laws, legal requirements, and government reporting regulations impacting Human Resource functions 
  • Proven ability to discreetly address sensitive and confidential issues 
  • Strong working knowledge of organizational change management principles 
  • Experience leading key talent cycles, including annual performance assessment cycles, compensation planning and talent/succession planning 
  • Ability to prioritize, quickly shift gears, and resourcefully execute 
  • Proficiency in desktop software programs including MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Proven experience managing multiple competing priorities within an aggressive timeline 
  • Strong attention to detail  

 

Preferred Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • Professional certification such as SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR, etc.
  • Experience in Private Equity and/or Asset Management

    Salary Disclosure

    Dodge Construction Network’s compensation and rewards package for full time roles includes a market competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and, for applicable roles, uncapped commissions plans or an annual discretionary performance bonus.
