Guest Services Host, Bilingual (Three-Quarter Time)

Our Guest Services Hosts are the friendly faces that greet guests, answer questions, and help plan amazing days at the Museum. You'll work in fun spaces like the Planetarium, Infinity Theater, and our Immersive Voyager Virtual Reality!The Guest Services Host position is highly interactive with our guests in a dynamic and fun working environment. Located throughout the Museum, our Host teammates sell tickets and memberships, while also helping to plan guests’ days in the museum. You’ll work with our team in our Infinity theater, Planetarium theater, in the Museum Lobby, and more while assisting guests, in both English and Spanish, and setting the tone for a great Museum experience.
Job Class: Three-Quarter Time
Hiring Range: $20/hour (+$1.00/hour bilingual differential)
Work Schedule: 4-5 days per week, 30 hours. Evenings, weekends, holidays required.
Essential Duties
- Provides engaging and meaningful guest experiences through outstanding customer service and assistance at various Museum venues, including special events as needed
- Uses ticketing system for point of sale transactions, membership enrollment/renewal, and basic sales orders
- Ushers guests into the Infinity Theater: checks and scans tickets, distributes and collects glasses, provides customer service in the theater.
- Ushers guests into the Planetarium Theater: check tickets, runs show controls and provides service in the theater.
- Operates Virtual Reality Experience: Orient and onboard guests to the experience, assist with VR headsets, engaging in basic technology troubleshooting as needed.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Able to work weekends and evenings
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with customers face to face and at least 6 months working in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual in English/Spanish

- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with guests of all ages and backgrounds
- Dependable, adaptable, and able to work special events, weekends, evenings, and peak attendance periods as needed
- Previous cash handling experience
