Barista (Part Time)
Description
This position demonstrates a passion for coffee and is an expert in the preparation and serving of espresso-based drinks. Interact with guests internally and externally to manage specific customer requests in a fast paced beverage assembly line.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties
- Provides consistent quality beverages following established recipes, or by suggestion of the guest.
- Prepares and serves a variety of hot and cold beverages including espresso drinks, lattes, teas and other specialty drinks.
- Attention to detail to manage specific customer drink requests in a fast-paced environment while working with other baristas.
- While on bar, communicate effectively and works as a team with fellow baristas.
- Consistently maintains the coffee lab to meet any required health and food safety requirements.
- Takes responsibility to learn all aspects of the Barista position, including opening and closing of the coffee lab. Assists in all areas, such as clean-up, shelf-stocking, or keeping merchandise displayed in an orderly manner.
- Provides helpful, courteous service to each customer.
- Greets and answer customer’s questions and provide basic information. Resolves customer complaints in a timely manner.
- Takes responsibility to learn all aspects of the cashier position including opening and closing.
- Handles money and can count back change. Receives payment by cash, credit cards, or automatic debits. Issues receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
- Adheres to cash handling policies and compliance standards.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- 6 months experience in a coffee shop environment with hands on experience with an espresso machine and grinders.
- Ability to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to pass all required food, liquor and safety certifications.
Ideal Candidate Will Be/Have
- Excellent customer service.
- Ability to work in a high volume production kitchen.
- Be able to handle regular bending and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Be ok with continuous standing during majority of 8-hour shift.
