Steward/Dishwasher
Description
The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is looking for a highly flexible, accountable Steward/Dishwasher to join our team. This position plays a key role in keeping our operation running smoothly by supporting our high-volume dish pit, ensuring kitchen wares are properly cleaned and sanitized for service. You’ll also help maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the Museum’s kitchen, floors, and dining surfaces while providing an amazing guest experience through excellent customer service, helping ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both guests and staff. Must be available to work holidays and weekends.

Essential Duties
- Ensures the constant maintenance of the dining room. Cleans tables, chairs and floors.
- Ensures that trash can levels are serviced and maintained.
- Provides high standards of service, quality and cleanliness.
- Ensures that trash and debris are removed and stored properly.
- Ensures the proper operation of dish machine to provide clean and sanitized wares.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has experience working in a high-paced dish pit environment, takes pride in cleanliness and safety, and brings strong attention to detail. They thrive in a role that requires standing, moving, and staying active for the majority of the shift, while maintaining a positive, team-focused attitude in a busy kitchen and event setting.
Working Conditions
- Standing or walking up to 8 hours in a shift.
- Strenuous physical activities like pushing carts, moving tables and chairs, and moving various equipment and supplies.
- Lifting requirements: Medium physical effort required by handling up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
- High volume production kitchen. Can be hot, cold, humid and/or slippery.
