Primary Accountabilities:  

  • Analyze town demographics and work with the Community Engagement leader to develop a comprehensive field strategy based on data and goals
  • Build and manage a field leadership team to execute said complex field plan
  • Oversee Captain and Outreach Ambassadors team throughout the implementation of the plan
  • Coordinate material distribution to all the sites
  • Lead outreach workers to meet the campaign's expectations for productivity, quality, continuous improvement, and goal accomplishment
  • Design and standardize best practices for data management
  • Collect data and photos from all teams, update the weekly outreach report on weekend activations
  • Weekly meetings with Captains to debrief weekend activities, update and adjust field strategy and coordinate the following weekend’s activations
  • Establish a strong professional culture within the field organization focused on accountability, specific goals, innovation and sense of purpose
  • Manage the field program budget and logistics in collaboration with senior staff
  • Lead the implementation of the distribution strategy, including literature drops in MA cities using technology provided by ASG to track progress
  • Direct flyer distribution in key locations, such as places of worships, food pantries, supermarkets, social service hubs etc.
  • Create and strengthen partnerships with community organizations and local groups already doing community organizing activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills: 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows applications, Google Drive, NGP-VAN, Ecanvasser, and ability to build fluency in other database management tools
  • Extensive experience drafting field plans including budgets
  • Experience managing others and diverse staff teams
  • Previous experience organizing or leading “grass-roots” activities
  • Demonstrated ability to build and motivate teams and work effectively in a team environment in both a management and support role
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to monitor campaign progress and keep the teams motivated
  • Demonstrated ability to form meaningful and respectful relationships with community members
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including public speaking
  • Experience recruiting, training, and managing volunteers desired
  • Must possess the ability to think creatively and strategically
  • Successful experience in working in a matrix organization
  • Must be able to work independently without intensive supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse groups of people
  • Commitment to creating awareness around equity, and inclusion

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
  • 1-3 years of experience in people-facing and/or project-based work, volunteer management
  • Advocacy/organizing is a plus (including work as a volunteer in your community or on-campus)
  • Access to the internet is required
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, especially during campaign peaks
  • Must have a driver's license and ability to access a vehicle when statewide travel is permitted
  • Bilingual preferred but not required, fluent in English and Spanish/Portuguese
