About the Role
We are currently looking for a Windows Administrator/Desktop Support to join our amazing Infrastructure Team. This fantastic role will involve working on a variety of diverse projects and be involved in implementing both back end and front end infrastructure for the organisation.
Ideally, you will have between 2-3 years experience within the IT industry and be involved in all aspects of system administration including Windows server maintenance, application maintenance, AWS maintenance and Helpdesk support..
Responsibilities
- Documenting processes, configurations and resolution of issues.
- Assessing the stability, security, and scalability of installed Windows systems.
- Provisioning Windows servers and application environments based on the requirements.
- Maintaining windows servers,desktops, and applications upgrade with an IT manager.
- Providing both onsite and remote support for company users with applications (and clients if required)
- IT Asset Management, e.g. laptop, windows servers, tableau licence, ssl certificates, etc
- Liaising with vendors and technical contacts for IT purchases, OS systems support, etc
- Work on and finish other tasks as assigned by IT manager
What you need to have
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience with Windows server administration, such as Windows active directory management, Windows DNS server management etc
- Good knowledge of networking, windows firewall configuration, software management
- Basic understanding of hypervisors and virtualisation, preferably in VMware technologies such as vCenter.
- Possesses a methodical approach to problem solving and fault identification.
- Is self-motivated with learning new skills and is willing to own and solve issues.
- Possesses good written and oral communication skills.
- Possesses strong self-management and organisation skills.
- The candidate should possess a suitable tertiary qualification or technical qualification to be eligible for this role.
- Immediate availability to start is ideal.
Necessary skills
- Experience with Active Directory / LDAP
- Experience with Window DNS server
- Experience with G Suite Admin (Mail, User,Calendar, Team Drives, Create Groups, manage restriction, monitor activity, etc)
- Experience with anti-virus systems management (Kaspersky), such as Upgrade, policy, encryption, etc.
- Experience with backup tools, such as commvault is a plus
- Experience with Tableau applications installation,configuration,troubleshooting,upgrade, etc.
- Experience with Autotask or a similar ticketing and asset management system or a similar ticketing and asset management system.
- Experience with Atlassian confluence or documenting processes with a similar technology.
- Experience with monitoring applications such as Nagios will be beneficial.
- Experience with the Vmware virtual platform is a plus.
- Familiarity with working with cloud systems (AWS) is a huge plus.
- Experience in problem resolution with IT systems and individuals
- Understanding of ITIL processes will be a huge plus.
Desired Certifications:
- MCSA
- AWS Systems Administrator or similar.
