YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As Bayer Crop Science's digital farming arm, we advance regenerative agriculture and technology breakthroughs using the latest agronomic science, data science, engineering, and real-world farming experience. With groundbreaking technologies like Climate FieldView and our ForGround regenerative agriculture platform, our team is a part of some of the most important advancements in ag.

 

As the Fieldview Commercial Lead, you are creating a vision fostering an entrepreneurial spirit to drive innovation in Digital Farming. You are a business pacesetter that is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and implementing strategies to capture value from FieldView as a product for farmers. Your primary focus is on maximizing the return on investment and ensuring that the organization captures as much value as possible from FieldView

  • Business Owner: Contribute to FieldView Platform development by identifying future product and business growth opportunities that influence the ARTs, shaping product vision and road map. Provide input for budget, business case development, on top of measures of success. Validate product increment and deliverable, review trade-off and organization focus. Engage with stakeholders to communicate advancements. 
  • Market Access and Distribution: Assess and analyze go-to-market approach incl. market and customer segments to optimize distribution channels and market access strategies enabling higher penetration, higher retention, lower customer acquisition costs, and greater value capture.
  • Channel Activation: Ensure field level implementation of customer strategy. Actively support channel management, product position and demand generation. Ensure implementation of order-to-cash, customer service, and technical support across RTMs.
  • Pricing Strategy: Develop and optimize pricing models to ensure that the organization captures the maximum value from its products. This involves conducting market research, competitive analysis, and understanding customer willingness to pay.
  • Value-based Selling: Collaborate with BCS (or RTM Partner) sales and marketing teams to ensure field level implementation by communicating and demonstrating the FieldView value proposition. This involves crafting messaging and sales strategies emphasizing the value delivered to all BCS (or RTM Partner).
  • Negotiation and Contract Management: Work with legal and finance teams to negotiate agreements that ensure the organization captures the appropriate value from its offerings. This includes terms related to pricing, royalties, and revenue sharing.

 

 

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, finance, economics, or a related discipline. 
  • Strong analytical abilities for assessing financial data, conducting market research, and performing cost-benefit analyses.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling for evaluating the potential value of different business initiatives and strategies.
  • A solid understanding of BCS business operations, industry trends, and market dynamics for identifying value creation opportunities.
  • Ability to manage projects effectively, ensuring that value capture initiatives are executed efficiently and on schedule.

 

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Effective communication skills for presenting findings, making recommendations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • A master's degree or MBA
  • 5-10 years of experience in sales
  • 5-10 years of experience in marketing 
  • 5-10 years of experience in product management

 

WHAT WE OFFER

Base salary estimated range between $161,144 - $241,700 annually, depending on the hiring location. You may also be offered bonuses, RSUs cash equivalent, or commission.
