Carbon, Regional Project Lead 
  
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
This person will be implementing the regional carbon asset strategy including Offsets, Insets, Sustainability Product and Co benefit certifications aligned per the regional Ecosystem Business, that drive the development of carbon asset projects that are of high quality, cost effective and scalable. 
  • Establish Bayer as a supplier of high-quality carbon assets and co benefits that meet buyers demands and the journey to net zero
  • Manage the development of the regional carbon asset projects for the success in quality, time and size aligned with the regional ecosystem business strategies 
  • Govern the Innovation selection and approval with standards of new tools to cost effectively scale carbon assets 
  • Establish Bayer as a thought leader in the journey to net zero through strategic engagement with global thought leaders, organizations and working groups
  • Optimize the use of resources by quality planning & transparent resource allocation to projects 
  • Establish a center of excellence in Ecosystem Markets and ensure trainings and engagement of teams in regions & countries 
  
WHO YOU ARE 
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: 
  
Required qualifications
  • Master's degree + 5 years’ experience or Bachelor's degree + 8 years' experience in Environmental Science, Finance, or Policy with a proven track record of success in Project Leadership & Management roles; Experience working across functional matrixes
  • Proven experience developing soil carbon dioxide removal methodologies for science-based carbon credit issuance 
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing outputs from Carbon Quantification Tools to present refining methodologies and science-based business insights to stakeholders  
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders; Ability to set clear objectives and tracking execution; Ability to lead change and hold ambiguity; Ability to build a culture of innovation; Influence people across functional boundaries 
      
Preferred qualifications 
  • Technical knowledge on carbon credits, standards, and the project development lifecycle (nature-based solutions including removals and avoidance) to advance our journey and accelerate carbon emissions down to net zero
  • Ability to work in multicultural and cross-functional environments; Strong prioritization skills 
  • Ability to use R, Python, or SQL programming languages to accelerate analysis of big data sets 
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI 
  • Ability to interpret data science modeling results and tie back to business outcomes 
  • Excellent business acumen
  
WHAT WE OFFER 
Base salary estimated range between $115,100-$160,660 annually, depending on the hiring location. You may also be offered bonuses, RSUs cash equivalent, or commission.
