POSITION SUMMARY:

The candidate for this position will have project management experience and expertise managing finances, such as cost centers and analyzing project lifecycle costs. Brings real world experience including project leadership, hospital change management, visioning and design.  DHR’s PC will have an excellent understanding of the DHR organization and the ability to lead the projects internal resources.

 

POSITION EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four (4) year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study or an equivalent combination of experience and education in Information Systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project management techniques and philosophies
  • Project Management Institute (PMP or CAPM) certification preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Computer skills required with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Bilingual – English/Spanish.

 

JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE­:

  • 3 Years project management experience required
  • Managing finances and project cost verification a must
  • Ability to track purchase orders and control costs to budgeted items
  • Yearly budgeting preferred
  • Excellent communication, both written and oral, and presentation skills.
  • Strong PC skills to include proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and MS Project are required. Ability to handle multiple priorities and complete tasks/projects in accordance with agreed upon deadlines.  Professionalism in appearance and attitude is a must. 
  • This associate must be self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience managing finances for cost centers or small business

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others. Considers mission, vision and values in developing services, standards and practices
  • Manage concurrent projects with competing demands
  • Develop project scope, budget, and timelines
  • Develop project documentation such as Project Charter, Weekly Status Reports, team updates, meeting agendas and minutes, and issue tracking
  • Control project costs, budgeted vs actual
  • Make sure project costs are allocated to proper cost centers
  • Act as the primary contact between project teams and business owners
  • Manage the relationship with project vendor(s) with assistance from IT Leadership
  • Track all project deliverables for internal and external project members and report status
  • Provide status updates to Director of Clinical Informatics and business owners
  • Work closely with the Training Coordinator to ensure an appropriate training plan is in place
  • Ensure an appropriate review and creation of current state and future state maps is researched and documented
  • Ensure future state workflows are documented and incorporated into testing and training plans
  • Work closely with Security counter-parts (Cerner, Network, etc…) to ensure all systems are properly secured
  • Work closely with Integration resources to ensure all integration points are accounted for, built, and tested
  • Partner with Revenue Cycle resources to ensure a positive financial outcome
  • Plan all testing phases, ensure required resources (people and equipment) are scheduled
  • Partner with the Integration Architect (Cerner) to ensure compliance with domain strategies, packages, upgrades, etc…
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance throughout the project life cycle
  • Work closely with the Meaningful Use Coordinator to ensure compliance with ARRA requirements and initiatives
  • Help in the preparation of project budgets and department yearly budget
  • Other duties as assigned.
