POSITION SUMMARY:

The Community Events Coordinator organizes events for businesses and organizations, so that the event runs smoothly and meets prescribed goals. In addition will plan, coordinate and direct the details of the conferences, meetings and conventions.

POSITION EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

       High School Diploma or equivalent required.

       Associates/Bachelors Degree Preferred. 

       Valid Texas Driver’s License

       Must obtain BLS certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire

       Knowledge of advertising, public relations and graphic arts.

       Must be able to be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.

       Good written and verbal communication skills required.

       Ability to read, write and speak English

       Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians

       Prefer hospital experience

 

JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE­:

       One (1) year of experience working in a high

       Experience in a health care setting strongly preferred.

       Requires strong communication and organizational skills.

       Requires reasoning ability and good independent judgment.

       Must present a professional image. 

       Requires working with frequent interruptions.

       Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, E-mail systems and some graphic arts.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

       Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others.  Considers mission, vision and values in developing services, standards and practice.

       Set up conference rooms as required, including setting up tables, chairs, and auxiliary equipment.

       Clean up conference rooms after the completion of events.

       Receive visitors and directs inquiries as appropriate.

       Provide basic information about usage of the Conference Center facilities.

       Welcome prospective customers and assist them in viewing the conference rooms.

       Assist persons utilizing the Conference Center facility in a variety of ways, such as setting up conference rooms as required, performing light household cleaning after events, and directing people to the correct conference room.

       Assist in the constant security supervision of the Conference Center facility.

       Answer the main switchboard and route calls or take messages as appropriate.

       Use telephone and other communication equipment in a well modulated voice, using good

       Work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

       Other duties as assigned.

CUSTOMER SERVICE:

Provide excellent customer service to all ECCR customers. All employees are required to attend the DHR C.A.R.E.S program which outlines the Customer Service Principals including: Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence through Knowledge and Safety & Social Conscience.

B.Working Conditions:  The individual spends over 95% of his/her time in an air-conditioned environment with varying exposures to noise. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.  The position does have low exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids from patients and some minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleansing agents. 

 

C.Occupational Exposure:This position has minimal to no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and is an OSHA Category III (although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids).  Person who performs these duties are not called upon as part of their employment to perform or assist in emergency medical care or first aid or to be potentially exposed in some other way.
