What’s the opportunity: 

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, organizing and maintaining precise control over incoming merchandise and keeping inventory in order. This position ensures accuracy and timeliness in many job functions. 

What will you do: 

  • Maintain an accurate and complete record of all merchandise entering the warehouse.
  • Receive all new inventory or inventory updates within 24 hours, and no later than 48 hours, after delivery in the inventory tracking system.
  • Maintain a clean organization system to ensure the precise location of each item. Regularly update product layout to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Complete monthly inventories to verify the exact amount of merchandise stored. Maintain control over inventory levels to prevent shortages or excesses that exceed goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of merchandise ready for shipment. Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate output of products.
  • Manage returns effectively and efficiently. Record returns in the system and restore the proper location in the warehouse.

 

What you bring to the table: 

  • Ability to operate bar code scanner for inventory control.
  • Ability to obtain all job certifications to perform duties, including forklift and hand jack.
  • Strong attention to detail required to verify details on shipping labels and systems.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Warehouse, forklift and hand jack experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of inventory receiving, organization and inventory management procedures a plus.
  • Familiarity with inventory tracking systems, such as E-automate.
