JOB SUMMARY

Perform month-end reporting, general ledger maintenance and reconciliation, financial analysis, and forecasting and comparisons, analysis of budgeted and actual spending, physical inventory, and product costing. Responsible for performing research in response to inquiries; analyzing financial information as part of the financial reporting process, and performing other general accounting and analytical duties by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the consolidation of financial statements.
  • Oversee requirements for external audits.
  • Supervise staff involved with the month-end close processes, including the preparation of consolidated financial statements and analysis of financial results for the various branches.
  • Supervise staff involved with the preparation of variance analysis and quarterly reporting packages.
  • Supervise staff involved in budgeting and cash forecasting needs.
  • Assist Corporate Controller and Accounting Director with ad-hoc projects as needed, such as entity disposals, purchase accounting, consolidations matters, internal accounting principles updates, and other items.
  • Facilitate opening balance sheet procedures in connection with mergers and acquisitions.

MANAGEMENT AND SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

  • Typically reports to the Corporate Accounting Director  
  • Job is directly responsible for managing other employees
  • Directly supervises Staff Accountants and Senior Accountants.   

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Microsoft Office Specialist Expert Certified – Excel   
  • Proficient in Microsoft Access, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and other Office applications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Led audit engagements of privately held or publicly held entities
  • 2-4 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CPA certification preferred but not required
  • Great interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles, standards and regulations
  • Superior data management and data analysis skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Regular business hours, Monday thru Friday, 40 hours a week
  • Working on site.
  • Climate controlled office environment during normal business hours.
