Description

The Systems Engineer performs on site installation, utilization, and maintenance of computer network connected imaging devices. They should be comfortable working independently and have excellent communication skills. In this role, Systems Engineers must complete high-level diagnostics connected to multi‐functional devices, scanners and printers as well as related software drivers and utilities by performing the following job functions:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Extensive daily travel is required to customer locations.
  • Effective time management of schedule and prioritization of customer service requests.
  • Diagnose routine system failures using established procedures and perform simple and complex application and network installs.
  • Requires a high degree of integrity and discretion with routine customer service related issues.
  • Experience troubleshooting computer networking and connectivity appliances and devices.
  • Require minimal supervision installing new equipment and resolving customer service requests.
  • Perform assigned tasks to completion or effectively escalate issues not resolved to supervision and management and follow them to completion.
  • Supports administration, sales, logistics and hardware personnel as well as the training of end users and customizing of functions to meet customer criteria and needs.
  • Maintain professionalism while effectively managing customer perception with both internal and external customers.
  • Works as part of a cohesive team with IT staff to satisfy customer needs (100% satisfaction)
  • Proficient in Microsoft based operating systems with emphasis on Windows, MAC, Linux server, and mobile devices (Android Operating System).
  • Maintains knowledge on existing products and pursues additional technical and product knowledge by actively participating in the training programs of the dealership. This includes manufacturer training and on the job training.

Qualifications & Required Skills

  • High School Diploma; Associate's degree (A. A.); or 2-4 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience is an asset.
  • High level of customer service, able to relate to individuals at all levels.
  • Service technicians must be able to manage service calls that require more time than anticipated without becoming frustrated or rushing through a job.
  • Ability to diagnose and solve problems from non-technical descriptions provided by their customers.
