Senior Program & Project Manager (Shenzhen based)

This individual will work in a small, cross-functional product engineering team dedicated to licensing projects, with his/her primary focus on project management for Asian clients and communicating with them.

The individual shares the same overall objective as the whole team: bring Devialet technologies and know-how to a wide range of products to ensure company's growth: Home Speakers (smart, soundbar, portable,...), Professional studio and Public Address speakers, TV, Smart displays, Smartphones and Tablets, Computers (laptop, all-in-one), Automotive accessories and also Headphones. These products can be positioned on a wide range of customers (OEM/ODM, international brands), active on a wide range of markets: electronic, social media, luxury, audio, internet, etc…

This individual will perform/deliver the following key missions in partnership with the Shenzhen team and with full support from the Paris Central Project Management team:

MISSIONS
  • Perform activities with the guidance of the Central teams in Paris and report directly to the Project Manager in Paris;
  • Product Phase: from EVT Phase to Industrialisation. 
    • Assist the Central team in Paris in being onboarded in the pre-sales phase to check feasibility and consistency with Devialet capabilities (workload, planning, risks);
    • Roll out several projects in parallel by managing, functionally, a diverse team.
    • Main Interfaces:
      • Within Devialet: Business Development managers, licensing technical team, Devialet engineering groups like mechanical, electrical, software, signal processing and acoustics. Mostly locally in Shenzhen, but also remotely in Paris;
      • With Industrial partners involved in each project like ODM/OEM as well as component suppliers (e.g. transducers, electrical components, etc.) and system integrators, when relevant.
    • Assist the Central team in Paris in:
      • maintaining relationships with Partners in China and across APAC;
      • contributing to and applying contracts commitments;
      • overseeing all incoming and outgoing project technical documentation;
      • being the planning owner representing Devialet's commitment, by leading project planning sessions, coordinating staff and internal resources, managing project progress and adapting workflow as required, also ensuring projects meet deadlines;
      • participating in the local tender process i.e design, submission and review;
      • proposing risk mitigation plan;
      • ensuring the quality of all Devialet deliverables;
      • conducting project reviews and preparing detailed reports for the Central team in Paris;
      • optimizing and improving processes (lessons learning) and the overall approach, where necessary.
    • Closely monitoring the cost by consolidating the team workload and the expenses required for the project at the proposal phase, and ensuring the paid-for workload is respected and extra time is accounted for.

    PROFILE

    • Master Degree in Engineering (or equivalent) is preferred;
    • With 5 to 10 years of experience in audio project management and suppliers & clients communication;
    • Technical/audio background is required;
    • Good command of speaking and written English and Chinese;
    • A good team player, creative, energetic and highly motivated;
    • Proactive and adaptable in a fast-paced / start-up environment;
    • An excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills;
    • Prone to work with international teams of various background (technical, design, business etc.) and partners; 
    • Rigorous, yet flexible to the peculiarities of each Partner/Project;
    • Solution-oriented, willing to always walk the extra mile for a project's success;
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
