Derive’s future products will continue to lead the industry into new technology frontiers. As a Scrum Master at Derive, you will be playing a key role in getting these products to the market.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates agile ceremonies: daily stand-up (scrum) meetings, retrospectives, backlog grooming/refinement, backlog sizing, sprint planning
  • Understands and uses a variety of techniques to continuously optimize ceremonies and team participation and engagement
  • Identifies and helps to remove impediments, escalates impediments to management; recommends ways to resolve impediments
  • Helps team inspect and adapt process through retrospectives, data/metrics tracking and creating a safe, trusting environment with space to grow. Coaching them to higher levels of performance leveraging self-organization
  • Assists with internal and external communication and improving transparency by creating visible information radiators (burndowns, velocity chart, etc.), dashboards and demos
  • Provides metric reports to assist in product roadmap planning
  • Facilitates discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
  • Observes team interactions and uses emotional intelligence to discuss observations in a safe, trusting environment
  • Support product planning by participating in release planning discussions. Supports during execution through understanding of priority and sequencing required to deliver efficiently
  • Helps team identify when forecasts are at risk, and helps team determine possible solutions to ensure they are met
  • Helping the product owners and development teams to achieve success
  • Help the agile team achieve higher levels of agile maturity

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience working in a high-tech company as a Scrum Master
  • Understanding of project management methods and processes with the ability to apply them to projects.
  • Strong time management skills
  • The ability to be self-directed and work in an ambiguous and dynamic environment balanced with knowing when to ask for support
  • Strong business and technical acumen
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication
  • Experience in Excel and JIRA
  • Agile Certification is desired
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Experience in the automotive industry is preferred, but not required
