Senior Director, Operations Planning and Engineering       
      
Job Overview:
As Director of Operations Planning & Engineering, you will be instrumental in delivering customer excellence with oversight of planning & analytics and performance measurement, and projects relating to continuous improvement and the establishment of robust systems of quality in a field service environment.  Reporting to the VP-Operations Engineering, your key mandate is to drive the creation and implementation of strategies that enhance operational efficiency and deliver superior value to our customers.     
 
This role is remote eligible, as agreed upon with the VP, Operations Engineering. Travel requirement is estimated at 30%-50% to field sites, clients, and other company locations.       

Responsibilities:
Operations Planning & Analytics     
Drive the operations planning and analytics function, leveraging data science and analysis to derive insights into operational efficiency and growth opportunities. Regularly monitor and evaluate operational data to attain maximum efficiency and meet customer expectations.  Oversee technician workforce/capacity planning through S&OP process.      

Operational Excellence     
Implement process improvement initiatives, operational best practices and guidelines, and standardized work across all functions, aimed at enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency.  Establish the culture, processes, and build a small, focused team to drive results.      
     
Project Management     
Provide leadership to continuous improvement projects and engage with related stakeholders ensuring projects align with company goals, are delivered on time, within budget, and contribute positively to customer experience.     

Quality and Performance Metrics     
Develop and implement robust measures of quality and performance across all areas of operations to drive a quality culture. Help train field leaders through change management best practices to understand the metrics and build buy-in throughout the field.
Continuously monitor these metrics for improvement opportunities and provide visibility to leadership and the organization.  Leverage insights to inform Operational Excellence efforts.     
     
Strategic Leadership     
Play an active role in the organization's strategic planning process. Work in partnership with the COO to execute critical company strategies and initiatives. Provide thought leadership and recommendations for process and technology enhancements that support operational key operational processes.       
     
     

Skills and Qualifications:     

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering, Business Administration, or a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.  
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams, particularly in field engineering, data analytics, and project management functions.  
  • Experience as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager or Continuous Improvement Manager as well as experience in Planning (including analytics, planning, inventory) are preferred.  
  • Black Belt Certification in Six Sigma is strongly preferred.  
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills, with substantial experience in implementing quality standards and performance metrics.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with an ability to motivate teams to achieve excellence.
  • Exceptional project management skills, with a proven track record of successful project completion and process optimization.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and geographic location. Base Pay Range: $125,000 - $200,000.  The total compensation package may also include commission, bonus or profit sharing.
