Medical Intern (Primary)
Job Purpose: The primary objective of this role is to foster an educational and professional environment for aspiring medical professionals focused on primary care. At Denova Collaborative Health, Medical Interns in the Primary Care department's Preceptorship program will be guided by our seasoned team of primary care physicians and nurse practitioners. The program is designed to immerse interns in the multifaceted nature of primary care, providing them with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience while adhering to Denova's high standards of care and operational excellence. This position is an excellent chance for interns to cultivate a deep and practical understanding of primary care within an encouraging and challenging environment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and organization of patient charts prior to their appointments, ensuring that all relevant forms and information are accurately incorporated.
- Greet patients upon arrival and assist with guiding them to their respective examination rooms.
- Aid in conducting preliminary patient evaluations, such as recording vital signs, compiling medical histories, and noting chief complaints, ensuring this information is properly documented in the patient's medical record.
- Observe and provide assistance during various primary care procedures and consultations under the direct supervision of licensed healthcare providers.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and patient case discussions to gain a well-rounded perspective on integrated patient care.
- Facilitate communication and coordination of care with other healthcare departments, emphasizing collaborative treatment planning.
- Comply with all legal and ethical guidelines pertaining to patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Engage actively in educational activities, including shadowing healthcare professionals, attending relevant workshops, and participating in training programs to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
- Perform administrative duties as needed, such as scheduling appointments, processing patient communications, and ensuring timely follow-up care.
- Execute additional tasks and responsibilities as deemed appropriate for the role and beneficial to a comprehensive understanding of primary care.

Requirements:
- Current enrollment in a medical school or a related healthcare program with a focus on primary care.
- A genuine interest in and commitment to a career in primary care.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Competence in or the ability to quickly learn how to use electronic health record systems.
- Preferred CPR and First Aid Certification (assistance provided by Denova for certification upon acceptance).
- Possession of or eligibility for an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- A motivated self-learner enthusiastic about primary care and dedicated to providing high-quality patient support.
- Bilingual skills are beneficial but not mandatory.
