Job Purpose: The purpose of this position is to provide a dynamic and professional learning environment for individuals dedicated to pursuing a career in psychiatry. Interns at Denova Collaborative Health will be mentored by our team of licensed Psychiatrists, PMHNPs and PAs engaging in an enriching journey of patient care and skill enhancement. This role is structured to offer a deep dive into the complexities of clinical practice, aligning with the highest standards of Denova's policies and procedures. It is an opportunity to shape a profound understanding of the psychiatric field in a highly professional and stimulating setting.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisted in preparing patient charts for consultations, ensuring all necessary forms were completed and integrated into the patient's records.
- Welcome patients and assist in escorting them to consultation rooms.
- Support conducting initial patient assessments, including capturing vital signs, medical history, and reasons for visits, and documenting this information in medical records.
- Observe and assist in various psychiatric evaluations and treatments supervised by licensed professionals.
- Participate in team meetings and case discussions to comprehensively understand psychiatric care.
- Assist in coordinating patient care with other departments, including primary care and behavioral health teams.
- Adhere to privacy and confidentiality guidelines in all patient interactions and records.
- Engage in learning opportunities, including shadowing mental health providers, attending workshops, and participating in training sessions.
- Undertake administrative tasks as required, including scheduling appointments and managing patient follow-ups.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned are relevant to the field of psychiatry.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a post-graduate Psychiatry or related healthcare program.
- Interest and commitment to pursuing a career in psychiatry or mental health.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to use or quickly learn electronic record-keeping systems (EMR, billing software, etc.).
- CPR and First Aid Certification are preferred (Denova will assist with necessary certifications upon acceptance of the offer).
- Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
- A proactive learner with a keen interest in mental health care and patient support.
- Bilingual capabilities are a plus but not required.
