The Sales & Customer Analyst will be charged leveraging all available data resources to support the sales organization to find opportunities and develop selling stories to win incremental business. They will be the owner of the relationships with all data vendors (i.e. SPINS, Nielsen, 84.51, etc.) and collaborate internally with the stakeholders in the organization to deliver the information and subscriptions necessary to meet our needs. They will play a major role in developing our customers across all channels.

Responsibilities: 

  • Own relationships with all customer and shopper data sources. (i.e. SPINS, 84.51, Symphony AI/EYC, etc)
  • Develops and publishes the weekly, monthly, quarterly KPI reporting and mines those data for insights to improve our business conditions; with particular focus around our AMPS (Assortment, Merchandising, Pricing, Shelving)
  • Support all customer line reviews and business reviews, perform customer deep dives to diagnose the business and support sell in of DWC key initiatives. Develop selling stories for those key initiatives at customer level and where appropriate, participate in customer meetings with Sales lead support as SME
  • Support the Marketing Team & Sales Ops Manager in developing and keeping current the DWC national selling story showing DWCs key value proposition.  Additionally, support the development and deployment of DWCs go to market strategy around sales controllables (Assortment, Merchandising, Pricing, Shelving / AMPS)
  • Where available (ie Symphony AI/EYC), mine shopper card data to derive selling insights and monitor our performance
  • Evaluate customer & syndicated data services and recommend where investments are necessary to make us smarter as a commercial organization.
  • Leverage sales data, market trends, external sources to identify problems before they are problems and identify opportunities before our competition
  • Support team and participate in major sales initiatives such as trade shows, sales meetings, special events and special projects as necessary
  • Produce ad hoc analysis as necessary

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience in category management, sales analytics and/or shopper insights in the CPG industry, preferably within Food & Beverage.  Additional desirable experience includes key account management, trade marketing, sales planning.
  • Advanced Skills with Microsoft Excel are required. Additional proficiency with Power BI or other Business Intelligence platforms are preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively convey markets insights & conditions to the executive team.
  • Ability to travel for trade shows, sales calls, and headquarter meetings.  Travel in the 20% range depending upon location.

Location: Preferred location is the Saratoga Springs, NY area however open to remote locations that are near major airport service or within reasonable driving distance (ie NY Metro, Boston Metro) with willingness to travel to Saratoga Springs & New York City locations on an as needed basis; approximately once or twice per month.
