About the Role
The role of an Advanced Assurance Associate involves supporting engagement planning and execution and has over two years of experience in a public accounting auditing role.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Involvement in end-to-end cycle of an assurance engagement (planning, interim, fieldwork, and completion).
- Proactively elevate issues and/or errors to the engagement leader.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the “why” behind the tasks on engagements.
- Begin to develop a reputation internally and externally as a resource to help team members with technical or internal issues.
- Begin to seek out opportunities to perform “in-charge” tasks on assigned engagements, performing first reviews, taking responsibility for planning, fieldwork, reporting, and necessary day-to-day communication.
- Coordinate with team members on the engagement to identify client questions that accomplish assigned/required tasks.
- Apply knowledge of internal controls and clients’ business to identify risk and make appropriate recommendations to engagement in-charge.
- Be an active participant on the engagement team by helping develop audit programs, testing procedures, and risk assessments.
- Consistently complete financial statements and all audit deliverables, including footnote disclosures.
- Perform inventory observations, as needed.
- Listen, comprehend, and understand client needs.
- Proactively elevate issues identified and/or errors, along with potential solutions, to engagement in-charge.
- Play an integral role in the success of projects and of the team.
- Find opportunities to better leverage work.
- Manage multiple engagements and their related deadlines.
- Meet internal and client deadlines.
- Take ownership of individual work product.
- Continue to learn and understand the “why” being the work being
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required in accounting
- One to three years of experience in an assurance or accounting related role.
