Senior Art Directors bring both experience and expertise to the creative process.They have developed a reputation for creating and overseeing the implementation of world-class creative business communications with particular responsibility towards the artwork, including print materials, as well as the filming of television commercials. We are looking for top talent that can be relied upon to make key decisions ensuring the quality of the finished product. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Creativity

·       Collaborates with other creative staff to share learning and experience and to establish initiatives that will improve DDB’s creative product

·       Responsible for not only the “look” of an ad but is also part of a creative team responsible for developing the concept

·       Establishes visual tone, character, and messages that will effectively communicate with the target audience and fulfill the project objectives

·       Is responsible for the proper placement, context and meaning of every image and graphic element within a creative assignment

·       Understands and accepts the need to amend, revise or redevelop campaigns in response to feedback from the creative director or clients

·       Participants in, and leads brainstorming sessions

Productivity

·       Works daily with the Account Director to ensure all deliverables and deadlines are met and within budget

·       Seeks approval from creative management on all work before delivery to Accounts and / or Client

·       Assists in identifying and managing outside illustrators, photographers, comp artists, and video producers to ensure the integrity of the final product against the brief

·       Multi-tasks, working on several campaigns at once, under pressure and against tight timelines

·       Takes on projects from start to finish and is able to relate all information to others involved on the job with minimal supervision

·       Understands the importance of maintaining accurate and up-to-date timesheets to record all work

·       Creates rough layout of print ads for presentation to client, and after approval uses all the resources of the agency to produce the finished ad

·       Supports and assists in preparing materials for business development projects and pitches

·       Supervises, as required, the work of more junior staff ensuring its accuracy and integrity to the brief

·       Develops storyboards for television ads as a model for client approval, then works with the Copywriter and Producer to ensure the final product is true to the original concept and presentation

·       Possesses excellent written and presentation skills

·       Consistently and independently acquires subject matter expertise through advanced training

·       Keeps up-to-date with popular culture and trends

·       Understands and uses the latest in computer design software

Relationships / Communications

·       Collaborates with and provides guidance to agency counterparts including: Project Managers, Designers, Production, Accounts, Creative Technologists

·       Represents, when required, senior creative management at agency meetings as well as with clients

·       Partners with Account, Media, and Technical counterparts to enhance quality, productivity and profitability of the agency’s work

·       Participates in the presentation of work to the client

Leadership

·       Coaches and mentors the creative team by providing open and honest feedback and inspiring direction for both project work and long-term professional growth

·       Shares knowledge in an open and collaborative manner

·       Contributes to the overall agency morale, spirit, character and work quality

Qualifications: 

  • Undergraduate degree in an associated field
  • 4-6 years of copywriting experience
  • Experience across a variety of communications channels and business categories (agency experience preferred)
