Description

DDB New York is seeking a self-motivated, well-connected individual capable of identifying, pursuing and winning strategic and tactical new business opportunities. The Business Development Director will use his/her current depth of knowledge along with a swiftly-acquired knowledge of agency (and local office) history, case studies, current business and strategic direction to contribute to the growth and financial success of the office.

 

The Director will report to the local President and CEO along with the US Business Development Director while maintaining close working relationships and support from agency leaders including the heads of account management, strategic planning, creative and production.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Helping to set the vision, define and develop new business strategies tailored to the needs of the office
  • Proactively initiating new client relationships and opportunities
  • Following up on new business leads and identifying organic growth opportunities
  • Prioritizing opportunities
  • Driving responses to RFI and RFPs in an innovative, flawless and timely manner
  • Defining new business processes, and managing that process in conjunction with key agency leadership
  • Creating capabilities presentations and other marketing materials
  • Coordinating internal resources within office and cross-office to develop client proposals
  • Leading new business/pitch presentations
  • Setting project deliverables, milestones, timetables and calendars
  • Developing new and maintaining existing assets, archives and prospect database
  • Leveraging existing partnerships and developing new ones
  • Leading internal new business meetings and agency updates
  • Communicating regular status updates to local, regional and global leaders
  • Working with the agency management team to meet overall agency vision and objectives
  • Partnering with DDB PR team to raise the agency’s local/regional profile - executive speaking engagements, thought leadership editorial, industry events/organization outreach and relationship-building.

 

Skills, Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Previous business development experience within advertising agency or creative service
  • Solid track record of developing successful relationships
  • Confirmed and proven record of closing major accounts
  • 7+ years of agency experience preferably with 3-5 years of business development experience
