The Role

The Human Resources Manager is key member of our senior leadership team who will be a vital partner in all aspects of the business. You will help to challenge our ways of working by bringing new ideas and perspectives. You will be responsible for all areas of Talent Management and Human Resources for our office in Toronto.

Responsibilities

This role will be incredibly dynamic, and will encompass at least the following responsibilities;

  • Full cycle recruitment and talent acquisition activities, including;
    • Work with hiring managers on their needs
    • Write and update job descriptions and post job ads on the Applicant Tracking System
    • Review applications, screen candidates, schedule & conduct interviews
    • Write job offers and close contracts
    • Work with third-party recruiters, as required
  • Complete all IT onboarding & information change requests for employees
  • Handle employee relations matters, conduct investigations & enforce Company policies
  • Audit and continuously improve all internal processes and programs
  • Liaise with the Omnicom Canada Corp. payroll department and act as an HR Administrator for our HRIS, including;
    • New hire set up
    • Terminations
    • Salary Revisions
  • Liaise with benefits carrier and act as an HR Administrator, including;
    • New hire set up
    • Terminations
    • Data changes
  • Act as a subject matter expert on our benefit programs such as Health & Dental, STD/LTD, RRSP/RPP program, etc.
  • Work closely with the Senior Finance Manager, particularly with regards to payroll and budgeting approval
  • Work closely with the VP, Operations, particularly with regards to forecasting and resourcing
  • Liaise with human resources teams across DDB Canada and DDB North America networks on special projects, initiatives and sharing best practices
  • Responsible for maintaining personnel files and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley audit requirements
  • Performance review coordination and tracking
  • Advise on training courses and options, and aide in training coordination
  • Track employee vacations, sick days, and personal days
  • Handle internal communication on personnel policy
  • Strong understanding of HR compliance: employment law, employment standards, and health & safety best practices 
  • Work with all employees to embed diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging into everything we do at DDB

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Human Resources Management
  • 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources, or an equivalent combination
  • Comprehensive computer literacy on Microsoft Office & Adobe Acrobat
  • Exceptional organizational skills, time, project and multiple priority management
  • Investigative, resourceful and solutions driven
  • Strong communication skills with excellent listening abilities
  • Good interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • A proactive team player with an exceptional ability to take initiative and work in a fast-paced environment
  • HR designation, an asset
  • Agency experience, an asset
