Digital Asset Manager

The Digital Asset Manager is responsible for the organization and archival of digital production & post-production assets for DDB Chicago. This professional develops plans and procedures to ensure files are accurately tagged, securely stored and can be searched in a DAM.

 This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities of the Digital Asset Manager

  • Administrate a CatDV DAM of video production & archival media
  • Develop & optimize automated media workflows
  • Provide ability for users to self-serve & share media files through CatDV
  • Perform secure backup & archive of media to cloud & LTO systems
  • Define custom metadata fields for searching & filtering of media
  • Administrate user roles & permissions within CatDV
  • Train new users on how to best utilize the DAM
  • Provide high resolution media files to agency partners
  • Troubleshoot & provide maintenance to the CatDV system
  • Track & store physical production media
  • Metadata tagging of all Army ingested assets to create a robust, searchable database
  • Become familiar with Army attributes such as ranks, jobs, vehicles, weapons, etc. as needed for tagging
  • Oversee delivery of finished spots and ensure shipped assets adhere to required specs
  • Maintain working knowledge of broadcast standards and shipping protocols with Extreme Reach, Comcast, etc.


Skills and Attributes of the Digital Asset Manager

The Digital Asset Manager has strong experience in asset management and video post-production workflows. He or she must have the following:

 Proficient in digital asset management procedures and techniques

  • Good understanding of video post-production workflows
  • Ability to organize files in a clear and consistent manner
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of CatDV required
  • Knowledge and experience in Archiware P5 (or similar software) and Adobe CC (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop)
