This position will prep & deliver meals to our Childcare sites.
Position Summary:
Food Services Staff for Childcare in Dayton, OH, is responsible for the preparation, pickup and delivery of supplies and meals which includes driving Y vehicles when necessary.

Essential Functions:
- Responsible for the pre-transportation inspection of vehicle as outlined in the van/bus log.
- Responsible for keeping this log completed and updated.
- Delivers and picks up supplies and meals which includes driving Y vehicles when necessary.
- Poses a valid Ohio driver’s license and/or CDL and has a clean driving record.
- Work independently as well as working cooperatively with all staff, vendors, partners, children, and parents to best meet the needs of all staff and participants.
- Meet guidelines set forth by the YMCA, Ohio Department of Children and Youth (Ohio DCY) and Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) program.
- Provide excellence in program service and timely delivery
- Function as a general, all-around cook for meals and special events.
- Implement a quality control program that provides all groups with the highest quality of meal service within given cost constraints.
- Assist in food preparation, service and clean up.
- Implement menus and assist in the entire health and safety of the food service operation.
- Help unload and store supplies.
- Hand washes and stores pots and pans according to Health Department Guidelines.
- Follow food preparation and storage procedures according to Health Department Guidelines.
- Ensure menus meet Ohio Department of Children and Youth (Ohio DCY) guidelines and Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) requirements.
- Assist in all aspects of kitchen and dining hall cleanliness, including storage areas and refrigeration units.
- Assist in the recycling program of the facility.
- Assist participants with any special dietary needs or requests.
- Provide exemplary service to all participants in the facility and respond to their needs in a timely and polite manner.
- Constantly assist with attaining the entire facility’s goals of cleanliness.
- Provide outstanding food quality and service to our participants and staff.
- Assist in all aspects of safety in food service areas.
- Inspect equipment within food service areas for safety hazards, damage, or wear. Notify supervisor of any issues.
- Increase program participant awareness of healthy lifestyle factors.
- Communicate to supervisor of any concerns or incidents that may need follow-up.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED certificate required.
- Valid Ohio driver’s license and/or CDL (bus) and a clean driving record
- Six months or more of related driving experience required
- Knowledge of all safety laws and regulations required to hold an Ohio driver's license.
