$15.50-$18.60/Hourly

Position Summary:
Assist in the supervision and coordination of leadership staff in order to increase the guest experience and curriculum within the Group Rentals and Teambuilding and Ozone departments.

Essential Functions:
  • Assists in the supervision, training, scheduling, and evaluation of Group Rentals and Teambuilding and Ozone Departments Staffs. 
  • Assists in monitoring the Group Rentals and Teambuilding/Ozone Department facilities and equipment to maintain safety standards and quality.
  • Act as the primary contact for Camp Kern guests while on Camp Kern premises.
  • Substitutes for the Group Rentals and Teambuilding/Ozone Director when needed.
  • Lead all group activities including adventure activities, hikes, campfires, mealtimes, games, and more.
  • Lead specialty weekend camps such as, Women’s weekend, etc.
  • Develop and Implement trainings for challenge courses use under the guidance of the Group Rentals and Teambuilding/Ozone Director.
  • Coordinates with the Group Rentals and Teambuilding/Ozone Director and other department staff to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the department including communicating any concerns or incidents that may need follow up.
  •  Respond appropriately to the needs of all guests before, during, and after their visit.
  •  Actively participates in and supports the goals of the Annual Campaign through building relationships, engaging volunteers, and carrying out other assigned fundraising duties. 
  • Assist in the creation, execution, and distribution of YMCA Camp Kern’s marketing materials, social marketing agenda, and distribution of program information.  Ensures marketing materials comply with Y branding guidelines and uses Y Voice to effectively tell the YMCA story.
  • Monitors and assists in the maintenance of a clean and sanitary program that meets all state and local licensing requirements.
  • Communicates to Director any suggestions, concerns, or incidents that may need follow-up.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.  2-year college degree preferred.
  • CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen required within first 60 days of employment and kept current.  
  • 1 year minimum of customer service
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license, insurable driver’s record according to the YMCA’s insurance carriers, and have reliable transportation to travel for business meetings, training events, YMCA site visits, vendors and suppliers, etc.
  • Computer skills needed, particularly with Microsoft Office and email applications, along with ability to learn the internal YMCA software.
