Position Description:

The Digital Producer is a mid-level member of the digital production team with experience in all areas of digital and content production.

 

The Digital Producer is responsible for producing medium level of complexity digital projects including but not limited to: standard and rich media display units, simple and complex social media executions, content production, websites, and mobile applications.

 

The digital producer’s role is to oversee the entire project from start to finish.  The main job of the producer is to make sure that the account team, development team, and creative team work hand in hand to deliver the approved concepts on time and on budget. Knowledge of current and emerging digital and social platforms and technologies is expected.

 

The Digital Producer will report to The Director of Digital Production. On the project level the Digital Producer will report to more senior Digital Producers for mentorship and guidance. The role includes managing resources, consulting with creative teams during concepting, developing project schedules, owning partner and vendor relationships, creating the production estimate and seeing the project through to completion on time and within budget.

 

Growth and training is paramount in the Digital Production team and as such, the Digital Producer will be partnered with a senior member of the team to learn and be exposed to more complex digital projects.

 

Responsibilities:

The Digital Producer is responsible for success of all of their projects. They should work closely with their team towards the completion of that goal. To achieve this, the Digital Producer will create and manage a project plan, estimate and status document. It is the responsibility of the Digital Producer to keep all project participants on schedule.

 

The Digital Producer must be decisive, diplomatic, and possess solid problem-solving skills. This is the foundation for working harmoniously as a team player within a variety of different departments and teams (including creative, account, media, art buyers, programmers, designers and vendors).

 

The ideal Digital Producer is highly organized and posses an acute level of attention to detail. They are able to assess situations and find a solution or know when to escalate possible issues.

 

The Digital Producer will coordinate all business issues including contracts, licensing and vendor costs. They will ensure that all art, audio, and video are cleared through art buying and business affairs before being used in a project. The Digital Producer is also responsible for the quality assurance of their projects, both for the content that is being presented as well as the technical nature of their delivery.

 

The Digital Producer will be responsible for keeping the Director of Digital Production up-to-date on all projects on a weekly basis (at the minimum).

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience leading digital project teams at an ad agency, or on an in-house production shop.
  • Must be an effective communicator, both verbally and of the written word, and display solid leadership skills necessary to work with a large variety of diversified teams. 
  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritize project deliverables while troubleshooting, at times, new technologies and formats.
  • Consistently deliver projects on time and under budget.
  • Must be knowledgeable in concepts and production elements of online advertising units. Areas of expertise include HTML5/Javascript/CSS, file sizes, delivery formats, 3rd Party Ad Servers, etc,
  • Rich Media technologies (such as Google DCO , PointRoll etc.) as well as the capabilities and limitations of online media.
  • Experience in live action production and post production
  • Experience working with vendors and client teams through a triple bidding process is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop
  • Great understanding of IA/UI standards and trends across all devices
  • Strong understanding of front-end (site usability, HTML, CSS, JS) development approaches
  • Working knowledge of production and project management tools including or similar too Google Drive, Basecamp, MS Project/Omniplan
