Description

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Property Staff Accountant to support the accounting and reporting requirements of our commercial real estate portfolio. This role is responsible for full–cycle property accounting, ASC 842 lease compliance, month-end close functions, and financial accuracy within our Yardi systems (Corom and Breeze).

The ideal candidate brings strong property accounting experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.

Compensation: $80,000-$100,000 annual salary

Location: on-site in Austin, Texas

Responsibilities:

Property Accounting

        Perform full-cycle property accounting for assigned assets
 

        Manage accounts payable and receivable
 

        Process monthly journal entries and general ledger activity
 

        Maintain rent rolls and tenant billing
 

        Complete CAM reconciliations and revenue recognition
 

        Review expense allocations and property tax accruals
 

ASC 842 Lease Accounting

        Prepare and maintain amortization schedules
 

        Support ROU asset and lease liability calculations
 

        Ensure accurate lease classification and accounting treatment
 

        Provide audit documentation and reporting
 

Yardi Systems (Corom & Breeze)

        Maintain lease data and financial records in Yardi platforms
 

        Enter key financial terms, dates, and lease modifications
 

        Monitor data integrity and troubleshoot issues as needed
 

Month-End Close

        Process accruals, deferrals, and reconciliations
 

        Prepare balance sheet schedules and analytical reporting
 

        Support year-end audit and tax documentation
 

Budgeting & Operational Support

        Assist in annual budget preparation and forecasting
 

        Monitor budget-to-actual performance and variances
 

        Provide financial support to property management teams
 

Qualifications

        Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
 

        Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience
 

        Prior experience in commercial real estate strongly preferred
 

        Proficiency with Yardi (Corom and Breeze required)
 

        Strong understanding of ASC 842 and lease accounting
 

        Advanced Excel skills
 

        Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
 

        Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
