Who You Are and What You’ll Do:

You are passionate about life sciences and making a difference to cancer patients, their families, and healthcare providers. As a TEMP Senior Research Associate in the Protein Sciences Department, you will be responsible for supporting protein purification and analytical method development needs for all discovery programs at CytomX. You will work with many biologics formats, including PROBODY® Therapeutics, bispecifics, and cytokines. With your excellent communication skills and work ethic, you will contribute to lead selection for all discovery pipeline programs.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the protein purification workflow to meet the needs of Research at CytomX.
  • Develop analytical methods to characterize biologics such as PROBODY® Therapeutics, bispecifics, and cytokines.
  • Perform quality control assessments on all purified samples.
  • Solve protein purification problems and optimize strategies based on scientific principles, current technologies, and personal experience.
  • Organize data in electronic lab notebooks and communicate results in internal scientific meetings.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MS in Biochemistry with 4+ years of experience in the biotechnology or biopharma industry OR BS in Biochemistry with 6+ years of experience in the biotechnology or biopharma industry
  • Expertise in chromatography methods and operating AKTA systems for protein purification is required
  • In-depth knowledge of protein characterization assays such as concentration, endotoxin measurement, CE-SDS, SDS-PAGE, and SEC-HPLC is required

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of antibody therapeutics and experience in purifying multiple antibody formats (e.g., bispecifics) is desired
  • Hands on experience in operating Agilent/Waters/Thermo HPLC or UPLC instruments, Maurice iCIEF and CE-SDS systems is preferred

Compensation, Benefits, and So Much More

  • The expected salary range for this role based on the primary location for this position in California is starting at $50.00 an hour. Offer amounts are determined by factors such as experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
