CytomX’s Internship Program is a paid 12-week summer internship for undergraduate and graduate students looking for exposure and meaningful work experience in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry. We’ve designed our program to give interns an opportunity to learn hands-on project experience, develop new skills outside of the classroom and establish career networks and lifelong mentors.  
  
Who You Are and What You’ll Do:   
You are passionate about life sciences and making a difference to cancer patients, their families, and healthcare providers. You will be responsible for characterizing conditionally active biologics in both biochemical assays and in vivo models, with the goal of advancing our knowledge of the Probody® therapeutic platform.   The internship will involve assisting in the development of immunoassays and generating in vitro data informing the design and properties of potential therapeutics.  Additionally, you will be involved in characterizing how these molecules perform in mouse models.   You will be responsible for analyzing and presenting these data at both the department and company level.  This internship will aid in your development as a scientist and leader.  
  
Job Responsibilities:   
  • Tissue homogenization and sectioning
  • Protein quantification
  • Capillary electrophoresis / immunoassays
  • Data analysis and presentation 
 
      
    Minimum Qualifications:   
    • Individual either possessing or in the process of obtaining MS degree (or higher) in a relevant field. High school students and fully remote candidates will not be considered.
    • Previous biochemistry, molecular biology, or biology lab experience is required
      
    Preferred Qualifications:   
    • Solid basic lab skills (e.g., pipetting)
    • Attention to detail, very organized, and capable of keeping clear and concise records
    • Strong interest in gaining wet-lab skills

    Compensation, Program Timeline, and Eligibility   
      
    • The expected salary range for this role based on the primary location for this position in California are the following: Bachelor’s Degree: $25/hour, Master’s Degree: $28/hour, PhD: $34/hour. Offer amounts are determined by factors such as experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

    Program Requirements  
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. We currently do not offer visa sponsorship to interns.
    • Must be able to commit to the full 12 weeks’ time frame and expected to work 40 hours a week.

    • Applicants must have completed at least one year of accredited university or community college coursework and/or eligible to apply within one year of their last degree attained.
