Position Overview
Cyber B.A.T. is seeking a Software Engineer to lead the design, development, integration, and delivery of mission-critical software systems supporting advanced customer requirements. This position provides technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle, overseeing engineering teams, driving software architecture decisions, and ensuring the successful implementation of scalable, high-performance software solutions utilizing modern DevOps and CI/CD practices. 


What You'll Do

  • Lead the analysis of user and mission requirements to derive software architecture, design, and performance requirements
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain complex software applications and system capabilities
  • Design new software solutions and enhance existing applications by adding new functionality and improving system performance
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Integrate software into new and existing operating environments and enterprise systems
  • Design and implement complex database interfaces, queries, and data repository integrations
  • Develop algorithms that meet stringent performance, scalability, timing, and interface requirements
  • Design software solutions using scientific analysis, mathematical models, and systems engineering principles
  • Analyze system workflows, data usage, and operational processes to develop effective software solutions
  • Collaborate with system engineers and hardware engineers to define software requirements, interfaces, project limitations, and performance objectives
  • Develop and execute software testing strategies and support system validation activities
  • Perform quality assurance and technical reviews to ensure software meets project and organizational standards
  • Produce, review, and maintain software design documentation, technical documentation, and system artifacts
  • Recommend and implement improvements to software development methodologies, documentation standards, and engineering processes
  • Lead one or more software development teams, providing technical direction, mentoring, and oversight throughout project execution
  • Coordinate software installation, deployment, integration, and operational validation activities
  • Monitor system performance and ensure software solutions meet operational and customer requirements
  • Build applications using customer-specified programming languages and development frameworks
  • Support modern DevOps practices by implementing automated build, deployment, and infrastructure management solutions
  • Design, build, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines to improve software delivery, quality, and reliability 

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline
  • Minimum of 14 years of directly related professional experience; or 18 years of relevant experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree
  • Extensive experience designing, developing, integrating, testing, and maintaining enterprise software systems
  • Experience leading software engineering teams and managing technical efforts across the software development lifecycle
  • Strong experience gathering and analyzing user, system, and mission requirements to develop software solutions
  • Experience designing software architectures, algorithms, and high-performance applications
  • Experience designing and implementing complex database interfaces and data repository integrations
  • Proficiency developing applications using one or more of the following languages: C, C++, C#, Java, and Python
  • Experience developing software for Windows and/or UNIX/Linux operating environments
  • Experience using scripting languages to automate development and system administration tasks
  • Experience with modern DevOps technologies, including: Artifactory, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, and Packer
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as: Jenkins and Bamboo
  • Experience with software integration, automated testing, deployment, and release management
  • Strong understanding of software quality assurance, code reviews, and software development best practices
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams, mentor software engineers, and deliver complex software solutions in a collaborative, mission-focused environment
