Position Overview
Cyber B.A.T. is seeking a Junior System Administrator to support the implementation, administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise Information Technology (IT) systems in a mission-focused environment. This role is responsible for maintaining system availability, supporting end users, resolving technical issues, and ensuring reliable operation of server, storage, network, and client infrastructure across Windows, Linux, and UNIX environments 


What You'll Do

  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise IT systems and infrastructure
  • Provide Tier 1 Help Desk support, including problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution for hardware, software, and network-related issues
  • Support Tier 2 escalations by troubleshooting and resolving more complex technical issues
  • Monitor the health, availability, and performance of servers, storage systems, network devices, client workstations, and mobile devices
  • Perform day-to-day administration of Windows, Linux, and UNIX operating systems
  • Install, configure, patch, and maintain operating system software and system applications
  • Manage system configurations to ensure secure, reliable, and compliant operations
  • Support users by providing technical assistance, account management, and guidance on IT systems and services
  • Monitor system performance and optimize resource utilization through capacity planning and performance tuning
  • Assist with troubleshooting network connectivity and infrastructure issues
  • Support hardware installations, upgrades, replacements, and maintenance activities
  • Communicate system status, outages, and issue resolution progress to customers, management, and technical teams
  • Participate in incident response and problem resolution activities to minimize operational disruptions
  • Maintain technical documentation, system configurations, and operational procedures
  • Support implementation of operating system enhancements and infrastructure improvements to increase system reliability and performance

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related technical discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a System Administrator supporting programs of similar scope, complexity, and mission requirements
  • Five (5) additional years of directly related System Administration experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree
  • Experience administering Windows, Linux, and/or UNIX operating systems
  • Experience supporting enterprise server, storage, networking, and client infrastructure
  • Experience providing Tier 1 Help Desk support and troubleshooting hardware, software, and operating system issues
  • Experience supporting Tier 2 escalations and resolving complex technical problems
  • Experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading operating systems and enterprise software
  • Experience monitoring system performance, availability, and resource utilization
  • Knowledge of system administration best practices, operating system security, and infrastructure maintenance
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to support technical and non-technical users
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced, mission-oriented environment
