Position Overview
Cyber B.A.T. is seeking a Junior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support the implementation, maintenance, and enforcement of information systems security policies and procedures across mission systems and enclaves. This role is responsible for maintaining the operational security posture of assigned systems, supporting Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities, and ensuring compliance with applicable DoD and NIST cybersecurity requirements.
What You'll Do
- Support the implementation and enforcement of information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies across enterprise systems and enclaves
- Maintain the operational security posture of assigned information systems to ensure compliance with security requirements and controls
- Assist senior ISSOs and Information System Security Managers (ISSMs) in day-to-day security operations and program support activities
- Support the preparation, review, and maintenance of security documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, and C&A / A&A packages
- Assist with Risk Management Framework (RMF) security authorization activities in accordance with DoD and NIST policies
- Support configuration management (CM) for security-relevant software, hardware, and firmware across enterprise systems
- Maintain inventory and configuration records for workstations, servers, routers, firewalls, switches, and related infrastructure components
- Support evaluation of security solutions to ensure compliance with classified information processing requirements
- Assist in implementing and managing system changes while assessing their security impact
- Support user account management, including identification, authentication, and access control mechanisms
- Help administer system security controls and ensure proper enforcement of security policies across the environment
- Participate in vulnerability and risk assessments to support system authorization and accreditation activities
- Develop, update, and maintain system security documentation in accordance with ODNI and DoD standards
- Collaborate with engineers, system administrators, and cybersecurity personnel to ensure secure system operations
- Provide support for maintaining compliance with security tools, encryption standards, and communication protocols
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) supporting programs of similar scope, type, and complexity
- Four (4) additional years of directly related ISSO experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
- DoD 8570 compliance (IAT Level I or higher)
- Experience supporting at least one of the following areas: Security tools and technologies, Hardware/software security implementation, Network communication protocols, and Encryption techniques and tools
- Experience supporting system security policy implementation and enforcement
- Experience supporting RMF, C&A / A&A, or equivalent security authorization processes
- Experience with configuration management of IT systems, including hardware, software, and firmware
- Familiarity with security documentation development such as SSPs, risk assessments, and SRTMs
- Understanding of identity and access management, authentication systems, and security controls
- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to support secure system operations in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment
