Civil Engineer Regional Lead

Position Salary Range*
The expected salary range for this position is $90,000 to $120,000 annually.
Required Qualifications**
- ABET-accredited degree in Civil Engineering
- 10+ years of civil engineering experience, including land development, transportation, and municipal projects
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Montana, or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity; current NCEES license required
- Demonstrated ability to lead and grow a civil engineering team and collaborate across design disciplines
- Expert proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; working knowledge of WaterCAD or equivalent, Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis, ArcGIS, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite including Teams
- Strong project and program management skills with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
Preferred Qualifications**
- Proven business development experience with an established network
- Experience preparing and presenting engineering proposals and technical reports for public agency or private clients
- Familiarity with the Billings, MT market and the broader Montana, Dakotas, and Wyoming region
- Experience working within or alongside architecture and other engineering disciplines

Position Responsibilities***
- Build and lead a local civil engineering team, providing mentorship, professional development, and resource planning as the team grows
- Identify, pursue, and secure civil engineering work in the Billings market through active internal and external business development, client relationship management, and project interviews
- Prepare and negotiate fee proposals, contracts, cost estimates, field reports, and project schedules
- Lead project delivery including oversight of calculations, plans, reports, specifications, and quality control across all project phases
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships alongside internal partnerships with Cushing Terrell's engineering leadership and design disciplines
- Manage project budgets and schedules, allocating staff resources to meet deliverable commitments and client expectations

*Actual pay will be determined based on the candidate's years of experience, licensure status, location, level of proficiency, and other job-related factors (as permitted by law). This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus.
