Position Description
As a Business Development Representative, you will be leading the charge in partnership with our other leadership, professionals, and subject matter experts to develop strategy, relationships and opportunities with federal clients. A Business Development Representative is key in moving this firm forward in both outreach and analytics. This position will be a leading voice in marketing and representation of our firm both online line as well as in person.
Position Salary Range*
The expected salary range for this position is $120,000 to $145,000 annually.
Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, in Marketing, Communications, and Business Administration
- 10+ years or more of job-related experience working with federal agencies
Advanced knowledge of common marketing technologies including: Microsoft Teams, Teamwork, Microsoft Planner or other related task management software, CRM (Hubspot), EMS, DeltekVantagepoint, GovWin, Adobe creative Suite, Microsoft Office suite, and Open Asset or other asset management software - Proven ability to drive sales and build and maintain a pipeline through proven and new creative strategies
- Advanced skills in networking, prospecting, persuasion, closing, public speaking, research/writing, motivation for sales/professionalism, and identification of customer needs and challenges
- Ability to outreach including cold calling and email outreach
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to make key decisions and mend difficult situations and/or relationships
- Advanced knowledge of construction practices

Position Responsibilities***
- Develop strategy working with the Vertical Market leaders
- Identify and develop sales leads and opportunities
- Strategic oversite of proposal responses
- Conduct, coach and/or assist in client interviews/presentations
- Research, develop, and maintain client relationships and satisfaction via client satisfaction surveys and periodic visits
- Monitor personal sales on a quarterly/annual basis
- Act as a Cushing Terrell representative at public functions and volunteer time for civic and economic boards/committees
- Promote Cushing Terrell in a positive manner
- Coordinate with the development of NBD literature
- Attend and be actively engaged in industry functions, association events, and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends
- Present to and consult with leadership on business trends with a view to developing new services/markets/clients
- Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, that will lead to an increase in sales
- Forecast sales targets and help ensure they are met by the team
- Track and record activity on accounts and help close deals to meet these targets
- Work with Architects and Engineers to ensure that prerequisites (ie: pre-qualification or getting on a vendor list) are fulfilled within a timely manner
- Present business development training and mentoring to business developers and other internal staff
- Research and develop a thorough understanding of the Cushing Terrell’s team-members and capabilities

*Actual pay will be determined based on the candidate’s years of experience, licensure status, location, level of proficiency, and other job-related factors (as permitted by law). This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus.
