Cushing Terrell is seeking a highly motivated individual with strong design experience to fill a Senior Planner position in our Denver office. Our Planning and Urban Design Team is focused on building community by way of visionary urban planning across the Mountain West.
As a Cushing Terrell team member, you will have a unique opportunity to manage projects throughout the United States. You will be the visionary planner and creative engine of our teams and projects, helping communities define and achieve their vision for the future. You will be called upon to lead multi-disciplinary teams, in partnership with talented designers, engineers, and business professionals across our 14 offices.
What you will bring to the table:
- AICP Planner (preferred)
- 5+ years of design experience in Urban Planning/Long Range Planning
- A passion for creative, collaborative, client-focused design
- A talent for balancing graceful communication orally and in writing between Cushing Terrell teams and our clients
- Experience with ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp
- Ability to read and comprehend Land Use Codes
- Strong experience in community engagement and equity-focused outreach
- Demonstrated leadership skills for building and supporting strong teams and for managing complex planning and urban design projects.
As a Team Member at Cushing Terrell, you will…
- Pursue and lead new business development efforts pursuing a variety of planning projects across the rocky mountain region
- Lead complex long-range comprehensive plans, small/sub-area plans, urban design projects, with a strong emphasis on community-driven design
- Lead presentations both in-person and virtually as a part of engagement efforts
- Manage projects to ensure they stay on schedule and within budget, including managing subconsultants
- Partner with architecture, civil engineering and landscape architecture departments on multi-disciplinary design projects
- Offer mentorship to junior-level team-members
The majority of the time a person in this role will be sitting in an office with limited physical requirements. This may require individuals to bend, stretch, twist and reach. On occasion individuals will be required to visit a client site to perform site verifications and field surveys.
Compensation
The expected salary range for this position $85,000 to $95,000 annually, and is based on the location/s posted. If you are a candidate living outside of (this region/these regions), we still encourage you to apply as salary ranges may differ across states/cities/job markets.
Actual pay will be determined based on your years of experience, licensure status, location, level of proficiency, and other job-related factors (as permitted by law). The position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus.
