Description

 

The Producer will lead the full product lifecycle for an individual workstream as part of a larger effort to develop a brand new middle school reading offering. The Producer will own lesson development for Vocabulary and Reading Comprehension lessons that will seek to actively engage students in topics that are relevant and allow them to see themselves in what they read. The Producer will work collaboratively with editorial and design teams to ensure content (passages, instruction, images, etc.) aligns with product success criteria and see that lessons are developed according to plan. Additionally, the Producer will learn about development of engaging interactive activities and the technical elements of which they are comprised. 

 

The impact you’ll have: 

  • Support the Product Lead to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Project Management, Editorial, Engineering, QA, Design, and User Experience Research to: 

  • generate impactful content ideas that engage students and lead to growth in learning through an intuitive product experience 

  • develop experiences that focus, delight, engage, and honor all students 

  • manifest the company’s commitment to inclusion within our products 

  • understand and make implementation decisions based on technical capabilities and constraints, as well as pedagogical and user experience best practices 

  • Partner with editorial team members in planning and generating content ideas and instructional flows 

  • Collaborate with design teams with asset procurement, including scheduling and script preparation for audio sessions, and image specification creation and hand off 

  • Facilitate planning, scheduling, and execution workflows at different phases of the product development life cycle 

 

Who we’re looking for: 

  • Experience in digital learning/children’s media products 

  • Familiarity with and ideally direct experience in software product development and/or Agile processes 

  • Strong negotiation and collaboration skills 

  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with editorial, design, project management, and engineering teams 

  • Exceptional organization and communication skills 

  • 2+ years’ experience in education or software technology 

 

Not required, although we’d love to see: 

  • 2+ years in Associate Producer / Product Specialist role 

  • Experience with Middle School students 

  • Background in Reading Instruction (e.g., teaching) 

 

Travel: If remote, 2-4 visits to the home office in Billerica per year; 1-2 visits to schools to get teacher and student feedback
