Senior Vice President, Sales  

The Senior Vice President of Sales is responsible for all outside sales activity within assigned area.  This individual will have a proven track record of success in K-12 including managing a team of sales reps and sales managers.  This position works closely with the Partner Success and Professional Development teams and is jointly responsible for leading collaboration and effective territory management across all educator-facing teams.  The ideal candidate will be passionate about education and improving the lives of students and teachers and will possess deep relationships in key districts and at the state level. The candidate will have a skill set that includes coaching and mentoring field sales to promote digital and print-based products within the Curriculum Associates portfolio.  

Impact you’ll have 

  • Meet Area sales growth expectations 
  • Be the Area expert on the company’s solutions, the issues faced by teachers in the classroom and the latest educational trends at the local, state, and national levels 
  • Leverage established relationships with high-level school district leaders in targeted accounts to promote company solutions and achieve sales goals 
  • Understand competitive landscape and establish strategies to achieve sales goals 
  • Be the conduit of market intel and communicate information such as product needs, market conditions, promotional activities, business opportunities, sales trends, and competition strategies/activities 
  • Make high-stakes, sales presentations  
  • Demonstrate successful working relationships with internal stakeholders to include operations, marketing, finance and product development teams 
  • Oversee development and implementation of sales plans and strategies to achieve sales goals and properly utilize other departmental resources 
  • Establish and govern budgeted expense/sales ratio  
  • Travel and communicate regularly with regional sales staff to plan, monitor, and appraise performance results  
  • Forecast Area and regional sales inventory needs regularly and accurately

Proficient with Programs and Applications like Outlook, SalesForce.com, Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS365, CRM, Marketing Automation tools and search engines) 

Travel: >70%, both driving and flying; some overnight travel required 

Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, standing at conferences and events, or driving
