 Staff Accountant

The staff accountant responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Completion of monthly bank account reconciliations
  • Preparation and distribution of weekly cash flow activity reports
  • Maintain prepaid expenses detail and reconcile to the general ledger
  • Maintain fixed assets subledger details and related depreciation schedules
  • Assist in inventory accounting, including monthly reconciliation of subledger detail to the general ledger
  • Reconciliation of company credit card statements to employee expense report activity
  • Prepare month-end journal entries in connection with various aspects of the monthly close
  • Reconcile various general ledger accounts, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, intercompany accounts and accrued interest
  • Record activity associated with samples and product giveaways to customers
  • Prepare monthly account analysis as requested
  • Prepare various month-end reports, which may include extracting data from General Ledger
  • Assist in preparing monthly department variance reports
  • Assist in preparing various monthly project variance reports
  • Assist with preparation of annual audit schedules. Interact with outside auditors to support the year-end audit process

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Successful candidates will thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a record of achievement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Two plus years of accounting experience
  • Thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to handle multiple activities
  • Excellent organization skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage workload and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications
  • Outstanding interpersonal and problem solving skills
