Senior Product Manager, Instructional Technology
We are seeking a Senior Product Manager as a member of the platform product management team in our fast-growing environment dedicated to making classrooms better for educators and students. The focus of this role is to forward and implement the vision for new digital solutions to support and enhance the instructional models of our teacher-led Core products. Among these enhancements are e-reader functionality, interactive lesson-presentation tools, classroom organization and engagement tools, and digital practice banks. The Senior Product Manager will focus on developing solutions balancing internal development, third-party integration, and possible acquisitions to meet the requirements of our Core products in the most innovative and impactful, as well as timely and cost-effective manner.
The impact you’ll have:
Drive product design to development end-to-end, working with the product management, design, and development teams, as well as subject matter experts. This will include researching internal and external user needs, gathering requirements, scoping and designing creative solutions, articulating and prioritizing detailed feature definitions.
Analyze the tradeoffs between building and partnering or purchasing system components, along with understanding how to integrate one or more systems to arrive at the best solutions; provide recommendations to key product, business, and engineering stakeholders
Guide technical features from the research phase through definition, execution, delivery, and into maintenance, integrating feedback from the field throughout the process.
Work with Product teams and Content Ecosystem team to develop infrastructure and processes for content development related to any new technologies.
Present product plans, ideas, and designs to technical and non-technical stakeholders for feedback.
Collaborate with fellow product managers to ensure a cohesive product vision and overall roadmap; collaborate with curriculum team(s) to ensure well-integrated product components lead to a user-friendly, high impact implementation for the cohesive program
Collaborate with UX / Design teams to define user flows and designs.
Identify user testing / interview needs and work with research teams to prepare for and schedule sessions and use the outcomes to inform product design and requirements.
Be the product owner on Agile team(s) to collaborate on defining user stories and acceptance criteria, review test plans, prioritize the backlog, and triage issues. Translate product roadmap features into epics/user stories, preparing for Agile team sprints, releases, and quarterly program increment (PI) planning.
Communicate features in detail via release notes, stakeholder meetings, implementation preparation meetings and product demos.
Monitor product usage and interact regularly with field facing teams and educators to gain understanding of the current product, customer feedback and market needs.
Stay abreast of market trends, key issues, competitors, and partner offerings
What we’re looking for:
Experience being a product manager or product owner on an Agile team, 5+ year experience.
Experience with developing product ideas based on multiple quantitative and qualitative inputs and making decisions that solve user needs after consuming and analyzing the input from various sources.
Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate across stakeholders both technical and non-technical.
Terrific organizational, problem-solving and management skills.
Proven verbal and written communication skills – especially describing features, user experiences, product requirements and issues.
Knowledge in the EdTech industry and/or experience as a classroom teacher/administrator is a plus.
Pay Range – This role’s range is $81,500. - $139,50. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that Curriculum Associates considers in making compensation decisions based on our Compensation Philosophy. Actual base pay within that range will vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, prior experience and relevant skill sets. At Curriculum Associates, it is not typical for an
individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances for each case. This role is also eligible to participate in the company bonus plan. The Company recognizes that minimum wage varies by location and will ensure all compensation decisions comply with applicable state and local laws.
