Operations Manager, Production
The Operations Manager, Production oversees the Production team; providing direction, support, and supervision to set and achieve company goals and objectives. Proven leadership, the ability to manage across and down, and to implement workflow improvement and small- to medium-scale company initiatives are required for success.
The impact you’ll have:
Lead and oversee the operations of the Production team, ensuring the efficient, timely delivery of programs and initiatives.
Assist in defining and own execution of Production objectives and goals.
Direct efforts among management and members of project teams to ensure deliverables are clearly defined and effectively achieved.
Responsible for resource allocation for Production team and ensuring projects are staffed appropriately.
Some budgetary oversight and responsibilities for projects/resources within Production purview.
Coordinate between functional areas to ensure programs are created efficiently, rigorously tested, and available for digital repurposing and publishing.
Own the end-to-end Production lifecycles and workflows for projects and programs, including planning, execution, archive, maintenance, errata, reprints, and customization/updates.
Organize and implement process improvements with guidance from leadership, or as assigned. Surface operational inefficiencies based on holistic analysis and bring potential solutions for improvement. Define methods and procedures for achieving Production objectives; create assignments to support company goals.
Oversight and ownership of numerous concurrent projects; responsibility for their successful completion:
Define and guide team in best practices for software (InDesign, Acrobat, etc.), systems (including WoodWing, SharePoint, SmartSheets, etc.), and file management.
Drive metadata collection and file structure to meet content re-purposing goals.
Report on variance from planned schedules, budgets, and/or scope, escalating early based on forecasts.
Ensure projects adhere to best practices and all documentation is maintained appropriately.
Ability to modify and utilize scripts; provide new ideas and guidance to team members on what's possible.
Use professional concepts to bring creative solutions to complex issues.
Schedule and lead regular meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
Create and maintain reports to be utilized internally and across senior management.
Who we’re looking for:
Proven team and project management experience within a complex and/or highly matrixed environment.
Expertise with Adobe products, including InDesign, Acrobat, Illustrator, and Photoshop; CMS experience.
Successful delivery of final products, creatively overcoming obstacles and constraints.
Excellent communication skills and ability to garner support for initiatives and resolve problems.
Flexible, with the demonstrated ability to pivot based on shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.
Full understanding of cross-team implications and impact of decisions.
