The Senior Editor, Standards Alignment is a member of the Curriculum Alignment Team within Product Management at Curriculum Associates. This role offers the opportunity to utilize a deep understanding of ELA and Math content to develop standards alignments at the intersection of digital and print instructional materials. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining correlations embedded in the Ready®, i-Ready®, and Magnetic Reading™ products’ digital assessment, instruction, and Teacher Toolbox educator experiences, as well as in the products’ printed educator-facing documents and state-specific RFPs. The ideal candidate will have deep content knowledge in ELA and Mathematics, extensive experience in reviewing standards alignments, and a strong understanding of the landscape and nuances of state standards.

The impact you'll have:

  • Use ELA and Mathematics content and standards expertise to create, review and/or edit both print and digital alignments developed in house or submitted by vendors for consistency with Curriculum Associates’ guidelines, ELA and Mathematics content accuracy, and unique expectations of state-specific standards, to ensure high-quality, accurate alignments are consistently delivered to educators
  • Develop a deep understanding of the alignment rules for each product and type of correlation, and continually improve upon the alignment rules
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Bids & Proposals teams to understand the needs behind new correlation requests, identify the best deliverable for each need, and drive the development and editing of collateral materials and correlations to fulfill the need
  • Collaborate with the Ready®, i-Ready ®, and Magnetic Reading™ editorial teams to understand new instruction and assessment content and solicit their review on key alignments and questions in order to ensure accuracy across all state standards. Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering teams when authoring digital alignments to ensure successful release to educators
  • Provide in depth standards analysis for non-Common Core state standards
  • Track changes to state standards across the country and update product alignments to the new or revised state standards

Who we're looking for:

  • 8+ years of experience in school publishing or experience editing curriculum materials with Common Core and state-specific standards
  • Bachelor’s degree (education focused or experience in education a plus)
  • Content expertise in K-12 Math and ELA
  • Knowledge of the Common Core State Standards and state-specific standards
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to maintain accuracy and a sharp eye for detail
  • Must be a team player who works productively and cooperatively with a wide range of people
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

 Not required, though we'd love to see:

  • Experience working with a Content Management System (CMS) and/or background in Digital Publishing a plus
  • Understanding of how instructional scope & sequences and/or prerequisite skills impact educator uses of product alignments to standards a plus
  • Teaching experience (K–8) a plus
