Employment Status: Fulltime  

Salary: CI$61,264 to CI$79,643 | USD$73,369 to USD$95,380 (no income tax)  

Overtime Eligibility: No  

Work Environment: Hybrid  

Corporate – Workspace is primarily in the Administrative Building  

In Field – Workspace is primarily Off Site at various locations around the island  

Plant Area- Workspace is primarily in the Power Plant Area  

Hybrid – Workspace is a combination of in the Administrative Building and in the Field or in the Plant Area  

Satellite- Workspace is at one of CUC’s satellite locations  

   

Responsibilities  

The successful candidate will be responsible for:  

  • Diagnose and resolve operational issues related to power generation equipment and systems (Diesel Engines, Gas Turbines, Steam Systems and their auxiliary equipment).
  • Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective troubleshooting strategies.
  • Prepare detailed reports on equipment performance, incidents, and maintenance activities.
  • Document troubleshooting processes, findings, and solutions for future reference.
  • Communicate findings to management and relevant stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the operation and maintenance of power generation equipment.
  • Work closely with the operations and maintenance teams to ensure procedures are practical, effective, and aligned with industry best practices.
  • Regularly review and update procedures to reflect changes in equipment, technology, and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance departments to optimize preventive maintenance schedules and improve equipment reliability.
  • Train operations personnel on new procedures and technologies.
  • Other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements  

Applicants should possess:   

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Process, Steam or Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in diesel & steam power plant O&M.
  • Experience with software packages such as asset management or maintenance work order software and Microsoft Office Suite

Key Competencies:  

  • Proven experience in a similar role within the Power Generation industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of power plant systems, equipment and processes.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Takes all critical information into account when making decisions.
