Work Environment: Hybrid 
Corporate – Workspace is primarily in the Administrative Building 
In Field – Workspace is primarily Off Site at various locations around the island 
Plant Area- Workspace is primarily in the Power Plant Area 
Hybrid – Workspace is a combination of in the Administrative Building and in the Field or in the Plant Area 
Satellite- Workspace is at one of CUC’s satellite locations 
  
Responsibilities 
The successful candidate will be responsible for: 
  • Responsible for the supervision of the T&D Operations and system monitoring & control. Able to review and approve switching requests, outage restoration coordination, contingency planning, and execution as per the energy control procedure management within T&D.
  • Responsible for preparing and analyzing T&D system reliability statistics, root cause outage investigations, and assets management information as it relates to the T&D System. Provide recommendations for proposed upgrades to the T&D system to maintain and improve reliability. Preparation of T&D internal/external reports.
  • Responsible for performing engineering analysis on the system using power system modelling applications. Performing load flow analysis for planned and contingency switching. Diagnose system problems, and develop plans for reconfiguring feeders for maintenance, upgrading, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring the Mapping Administrator system changes.
  • Responsible for reviewing all T&D outages tickets to determine if additional investigation and corrective actions plans are required. Responsible for overseeing implementation and prioritization of such corrective actions plans.
  • Responsible for identifying skill gaps and needs for training and education of the team members. Mentoring and coaching department staff members.
  • Other duties which may be assigned from time to time.
 
Requirements: 
Applicants should possess:  
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineer or a 3-year diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology required.
  • A minimum of 4 years experience in T&D engineering, T&D standards, T&D equipment, operations, and construction required. 
  • Experience with software packages such as Partner, Windmill, etc. Microsoft Office Suite, etc., preferred
  • Experience with IEEE and NESC standards preferred.
