Salary: CI$2,997 to CI$3,896 per month

Overtime Eligibility: Yes

Work Environment: Plant Area

Corporate – Workspace is primarily in the Administrative Building

In Field – Workspace is primarily Off Site at various locations around the island

Plant Area- Workspace is primarily in the Power Plant Area

Hybrid – Workspace is a combination of in the Administrative Building and in the Field or in the Plant Area

Satellite- Workspace is at one of CUC’s satellite locations

 

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out all routine and scheduled operational tasks in ER 1 through 4 independently including, adding oil, greasing, cleaning strainers, wiping down units etc. as per routine schedule or as needed.  
  • Performing prestart checks and preparing all units in ER 1 and 4 for starting and stopping when requested by Control Room personnel.
  • To start, stop, monitor and observe all auxiliary equipment in ER 1 and 4 making sure they are available when needed. This includes monitoring hydrocarbons, water and air levels for all systems taking corrective action when needed.
  • Investigating all alarms with relation to ER 1 and 4 and taking corrective action to conduct trouble shooting and address the cause of the alarm. Notifying the SOS about relevant alarms.
  • Regularly making observations rounds on all equipment in ER 1 through 4 to check for operating anomalies such as leaks or unusual noises and taking corrective action.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Applicants should possess:

  • Must be a high school graduate
  • Technical Diploma preferred
  • Working towards achieving NCCER Core & Introduction to Power Industry
