Work Environment: Hybrid 
Corporate – Workspace is primarily in the Administrative Building 
In Field – Workspace is primarily Off Site at various locations around the island 
Plant Area- Workspace is primarily in the Power Plant Area 
Hybrid – Workspace is a combination of in the Administrative Building and in the Field or in the Plant Area 
Satellite- Workspace is at one of CUC’s satellite locations 
  
Responsibilities 
The successful candidate will be responsible for: 
  • Responsible for the development and management of a Capital Program to facilitate the necessary expansions and improvements to the company's Production systems and facilities to meet load growth, improve system reliability and safety, enhance system operational flexibilities, and reduce system loses. Responsible for the Engineering Services capital projects associated with the Production Division.
  • Responsible for the implementation of such improvements through the development of scopes of work, engineering design specifications and detailed engineering design as the bases of the appropriate Construction Work Packages.  In accordance with Company's Project Management process. To ensure Company safety practices and procedures are followed by employees and contractors on all assigned projects.
  • Responsible for approving, monitoring, supervising, inspecting and review of new and modifications to civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls and installation of Production equipment and ensuring that they meet CUC's and industry standards.
  • Responsible for the preparation, updating and monitoring of standards for electrical, mechanical control and instrumentation in the generation system.
  • Provide technical leadership across the company in the Production area. Provide general engineering support to all company departments. Provision of occasional internal training for other personnel.
  • Participate in the work of a group of employees involved in the engineering, maintenance, troubleshooting and service of the power system’s maintenance program. Responsible for the provision of engineering assistance to the Production Division when requested. Required to provide "On Call" support as required.
  • Responsible for liaising with the Production, T&D Division's contractors and consultants
  • Guiding other staff to assist where required to achieve the tasks above. Perform work in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards and safety policies. Other duties which may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements: 
Applicants should possess:  
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ work experience in Plant Engineering projects relevant to the power utility industry.
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineering credential in good standing or be able to prove equivalent and that is working towards achieving the recognized credentials.
  • Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite Programs and AutoCAD
  • Good written and verbal communication skills for report writing, letter writing and technical presentations
  • Project Management Institute (PMI), PMP or PMP or Equivalent
