Lead Mechanical Engineer

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

-         Controlling the development and management of Capital Programs to facilitate the necessary expansions and improvements to the company's Production systems and facilities to meet load growth, improve system reliability and safety, enhance system operational flexibilities, and reduce system loses

-         Leading the implementation of improvements through the development of scopes of work, engineering design specifications and detailed engineering design as the basis of the appropriate Construction Work Packages

  • Facilitate that projects are developed and managed in accordance with Company's Project Management process and that the Company safety practices and procedures are adhered to on all assigned projects

-         Approve, monitor, supervise, inspect and review new and modifications to civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, controls and installation of Production equipment and ensuring that they meet relevant standards

-         Prepare, update and monitor standards, policies and procedures for electrical, mechanical, control and instrumentation in the generation systems

-         Technically leading Production projects, provide general engineering support to all company departments. Provision of occasional internal training for other personnel

-         Other duties as required.

Requirements:

Applicants should possess:

-                      Minimum of ten (10) years’ work experience in Plant Engineering projects relevant to the power utility industry

-                      Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

-                      Professional Engineering credential in good standing or be able to prove equivalent and that he/she is working towards achieving the recognized credentials

-                      Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite Programs and AutoCAD

-                      Good written and verbal communication skills for report writing, letter writing and technical presentations

-                      Project Management Institute (PMI), PMP or industry recognized PMP Equivalent

-                      Fosters cross-functional collaboration, teamwork and training

-                      Ability to multi task with a high degree of proficiency

-                      Ability to prepare technical and non-technical documentation.

Salary:

 

-         Salary is CI$6,087 to $7,913 per month

  • Or US$7,304.40 to $9,495.60 per month
