Department: T&D Construction & Maintenance 
Employment Status: Fulltime 
Salary: CI$2,735 to CI$3,556 monthly 
Overtime Eligibility: Yes 
Work Environment: In Field, with constant or frequent exposure to temperature extremes.
Corporate – Workspace is primarily in the Administrative Building
In Field – Workspace is primarily Off Site at various locations around the island
Plant Area- Workspace is primarily in the Power Plant Area
Hybrid – Workspace is a combination of in the Administrative Building and in the Field or in the Plant Area
Satellite- Workspace is at one of CUC’s satellite locations

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Assisting in the maintenance and construction of  the transmission and distribution lines network in accordance with the first year apprenticeship training , including;
    • Assisting Linemen
    • Acting as Grounds men
    • Cleaning of tools, equipment and machinery
    • Clearing of work sites
    • Lifting and carrying materials
    • Digging of holes and planning poles
    • To work overtime as required
    • Other duties as required. 
  • Performing all work safely and in accordance with Company standards and procedures under the direction of a lineman or foreman.  
  • Proper usage and care of all tools and equipment issued to you, or used by you. 
  • Performing any tasks as assigned by a Supervisor during or after normal working hours.
 
Requirements
Applicants should possess:
Education & Training
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of technical/vocational courses in electricity, electronics, or related field preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Strong mathematical aptitude
Skills & Abilities
  • Basic understanding of electrical theory, math, and mechanical principles.
  • Ability to follow instructions and learn progressively complex tasks under supervision.
  • Strong commitment to safety practices and procedures.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and during extended hours or emergencies.
Physical Requirements
  • Physically fit to climb poles and structures, lift heavy equipment, and perform strenuous tasks.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
