Employment Opportunity  ::  Controls Technician III 

  

Department: Electrical Maintenance 

Employment Status: Fulltime 

Salary: CI$4,562 to CI$5,930 per month 

Work Environment: Plant Area 

Corporate – Workspace is primarily in the Administrative Building 

In Field – Workspace is primarily Off Site at various locations around the island 

Plant Area- Workspace is primarily in the Power Plant Area 

Hybrid – Workspace is a combination of in the Administrative Building and in the Field or in the Plant Area 

  

Responsibilities 

The successful candidate will be responsible for: 

  • Coordinating and participating in the work of a group of employees involved in the engineering and maintenance, troubleshooting and service of a power plant electrical maintenance program.
  • Troubleshooting problems with Plant and substations Control Systems, including PLCs, RTUs, and System Computer hardware and software.
  • Ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards and safety policies.
  • Assisting with design, estimate, and install upgrades to existing and new control systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements 

Applicants should possess:  

  • Graduate of Electrical Technician Program or Certified as a Instrumentation Technician or equivalent
  • A minimum of three (3) years related experience electrical equipment repair and maintenance work.

Key Competencies: 

  • Must possess a high level of written and verbal communication skills. 
  • The ability to listen well and give clear instructions.
  • Applies practical and technical knowledge to complex maintenance issues and solves problems.
  • Stays current with electric utility industry standards and changes and demonstrates that knowledge by recommending and assisting with the implementing approved changes.
