SUMMARY:
As Financial Analyst, you are a highly analytical, collaborative and detail-oriented professional to lead FP&A efforts across both project-level and corporate finance functions. This role is pivotal in driving financial transparency, strategic planning, and operational efficiency in a dynamic construction management company. You’ll partner closely with business leaders to translate financial data into actionable insights, enabling smarter decisions and stronger outcomes.
This position reports directly to the Vice President of Operations with a dotted-line relationship to the Corporate Controller. Sitting at the intersection of operations and finance, the role requires a strong ability to navigate a matrixed organization—aligning priorities, influencing stakeholders, and driving clarity across departments. You’ll serve as a key liaison between field execution and financial leadership, ensuring that planning, reporting, and decision-making are grounded in both operational context and financial discipline. This role will support strategic decision-making through financial transparency, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and performance reporting. On the corporate finance side, you own monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting cycles, maintain and refine the company-wide forecast model, prepare executive and board-level reporting packages and conduct ad hoc financial analyses to support strategic initiatives and investment decisions.
This is a full-time FLSA-exempt position. The position requires 40 work hours per week with the ability to work more if necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operational & Finance Reporting & Analytics
- Develop and maintain job margin forecasts across active and upcoming projects.
- Analyze resource utilization and expense trends to support project efficiency.
- Partner with department leaders, project managers and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
- Analyze financial results, identify trends and provide actionable insights to business leaders.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business drivers and align financial plans.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports for senior leadership.
- Support scenario planning and sensitivity analysis for strategic initiatives.
- Assist in the development of KPIs and dashboards to monitor financial performance.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting systems.
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes.
- Maintain and refine company-wide forecast model.
- Prepare board-level reporting packages and executive summaries.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analyses to support strategic initiatives and investment decisions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA is a plus
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in FP&A, preferably within construction, real estate, or project-based industries
- Strong understanding of operational metrics and financial drivers in a construction environment
- Strong systems orientation with the ability to efficiently extract, manipulate, and analyze large data sets across multiple platforms and tools
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across departments
- Self-starter with a bias for action and continuous improvement
- Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; experience with ERP systems and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Sage Intaact) is preferred.
